Skinner & T’witch had great fun recording a video this week for the Yorkshire Evening Post (YEP), to promote the Pick n’ Mix We Shall Overcome (WSO) Acoustic Roots Solidarity (1 Day) Festival at The Grove Inn in Leeds on Saturday, October 6th, in support of Leeds’ Food-banks. The event took place as part of a national series of WSO events this weekend, and throughout the year, raising money and awareness about austerity and for those most affected by it.

An article was in the YEP last week, and you can watch the video via the link below, on the what’s on/music section of their website: www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk

From April 2017 to April 2018 a staggering 1,332,952 3 day emergency parcels have been given out nationally by the Trussell Trust Food-banks

Last year, 19,000 people across Leeds needed 3 day emergency food parcels from the Food-banks to get by. About a third of those people had jobs. Over half of those people had kids (food poverty gets worse over the school holidays, when schools aren’t there to help out). The situation is getting worse and worse, with the introduction of the austerity policies, and is now even worse with the recent benefit changes. Leeds’ Food-banks rely on volunteers and your donations to keep going.
